TILES

Please join us for tiles tomorrow morning from 7:45-8:30. Here are a few things you can expect to help with if you join us in the morning:

1. Sign in on the sign in sheet.
2. Pass out bags of tiles to students.
3. Supervise and assist students who need help.
4. Work with ALL kids in our classroom.
5. When students finish each card they will raise their hand and show you their completed card. 6. You will check their work with them and help as needed.
7. After they have correctly placed their tiles on the card, you will sign your initials on their paper next to the number of the card that they have completed.
8.When finished with their card they will either flip it over and do the other side or you may need to help them find a new card.

Our goal is to get as many tiles cards completed as possible during this time. The students really enjoy tiles and look forward to having their parents volunteer in our classroom each week! We hope to see you tomorrow!!!

A New Year!

Welcome to First Grade!! It's hard to believe we are already a month into the 2010/2011 school year! We have been working very hard in our classroom already! We just finished most of our assessments (we still have to take MAP reading and math at the end of the month) and are ready to really dive into our first grade curriculum. We will start reading and spelling groups next week!
You will find lots of valuable information on our class web site! Including links to our sight word powerpoint and spelling city. I will add links and updates as needed to let you know of the happenings in our classroom and school community. If you ever have questions or concerns please don't hesitate to email, call or stop by. I am looking forward to a fantastic year!!
